The city of St. Louis is still a central part of America’s heartbeat. Even today St. Louis is home to one of the biggest inland port in the U.S. St. Louis is currently a modern urban metropolis. It still, however, whispers of its frontier history. The symbolic Gateway Arches stand as a well-known landmark which silently speaks of the city’s illustrious history. There are a plethora of steamboats lining the river’s edge where warehouses that once held inventory now hold many restaurants and shops.
