More than 150 years later and Salt Lake City is known for its large Mormon population and influences. With close to half of the residents being members of the Church of Latter-Day Saints, many visit the city in hopes getting a glimpse of a lifestyle that is both interesting and foreign to most Americans.
Although the Mormon faith is what most people think of when they hear Salt Lake City, there is also a thriving business community in the city. Many large technology and software companies have located their headquarters in the city. In addition, Salt Lake City is host to many large corporate conferences and events throughout the year.
