Quebec Flights - A short guide. The province of Quebec, on the eastern side of Canada has its shores dipping into the North Atlantic, Hudson Bay and James Bay. The St. Lawrence Seaway slices through the province making several of the cities along its shore important shipping ports including Quebec City and Montreal. In addition to all this water, the province is riddled with thousands of lakes, rivers and streams making it a fisherman’s paradise. Having fun in the great outdoors is easy in this wild and greatly mountainous province. Up north, the Laurentians, with popular tourist destinations like St. Sauveur and Mont-Tremblant, offer everything from boating, fishing, golfing and cycling in the summer and such winter sports as skiing and snowshoeing across fairy tale-like sceneries. Mont-Tremblant also offers exciting nightlife with many free outdoor concerts and events, the most famed of which is the annual Blues Festival. To the south, the gentle slopes and rich green fields of the Eastern Townships welcome visitors to some captivating scenery as well as great antiquing in the many quaint towns of the area like Knowlton and Eastman. Though persistent political differences between the English and French still cling to the province, even centuries after Jacque Cartier set foot on the land, the quest for sovereignty has been temporarily set aside. Instead the focus has been set on building a strong economy, and a good tourist influx is part of this solution.
