Philadelphia Flights - A short guide. It may be only the fifth largest city in the U.S., but Philadelphia is THE largest metropolis in Pennsylvania. At the meeting point of the Delaware and Schuylkill Rivers sits the city of “Brotherly Love” aka Philadelphia. Although many only think “Rocky” when they hear the name Philadelphia, it’s also the city where our nation was birthed. In 1790 it was declared the United States capital city and remained so for the next ten years before the government packed up for Washington. Philadelphia, with its massive fresh water ports, is also home to the AmeriPort facility in the southern part of the city; this facility is a hub for shipping as it has several rail links going to both Canada and the Midwest. Many epic gems of American history can also be found within the city of the Philadelphia; Independence Hall, the exact location where the Declaration of Independence was signed is just one example of the history this city is home to. Visitors could also take a visit to the city’s Museum of Art, the Philadelphia Zoological Gardens, or check out the Franklin Institute Science Museum. Another spectacular place to visit is the Longwood Gardens where topiary gardens, a conservatory, and children’s garden are just a things you’ll find to enjoy. There’s much to love about the city of “Brotherly Love!”
