Receiving very little rainfall means many days of fun in the sun, but also leaves the air of the area dry. Throughout history struggles for water have seen the people use the irrigation systems and aqueducts of the Muslims of North Africa. Today, many of these systems as still used and help distribute the measly amounts of rainwater accumulated throughout the area. This ensures healthy crops of citrus and grapes as well as tons of tomatoes.
