Lithuania Flights - A short guide.

Once under Soviet control, Lithuania sought and reclaimed its sovereignty in 1990 and in the spring of 2004, this country with its economy reorganized, joined the EU. This means visitors who aspire to see and wander through the country of Lithuania can now openly do so.

Lithuania lies on the Baltic Sea’s eastern side; however, it’s only got 62 miles of Baltic coastline because the country is moderately tiny. It’s located near the countries of Belarus, Latvia and Poland and is a part of the Russian Federation. There is much the country has to offer its tourists such as 2,500 lakes, 18 winding rivers and lots of forests that cover about one-third of the land.

Lithuania is actually the center country of the European continent as noted by the National Geographic Institute of France in 1989. The National Geographic Institute of France is now a tourist hotspot and workers from this institute plotted a point that is 15 miles northwest of Lithuania’s capital Vilnius as the center of Europe.

Vilnius was established in 1323 and has an old quarter area that’s been acknowledged as a UNESCO Heritage Site. This area is now undergoing attractive renovations. Trakai, the country’s capital during the Middle Ages, lies close to the shore of Lake Galve. If visitors go further west of Trakai, they can take in the sights and rest at the Birstonas mineral water spa resort. The second largest city in Lithuania is cultural Kaunas, which has various museums, three theatres and plenty more attractions for its visitors and inhabitants to enjoy. Lithuania also has seaside resorts such as Palanga that rests on the Baltic coastline. Palanga has white sandy beaches, which sits close to the pine forests.
