Located on the island of Oahu, Honolulu, Hawaii is the state capital. Honolulu’s gorgeous beaches are known the world over; Waikiki is Honolulu’s most famous beach, but there are many others.
Oahu’s natural beauty is impressive and surprisingly unspoiled by human activity; a total of twenty-three national parks serve visitors, while helping to preserve the island’s flora and fauna. Helicopter tours give passengers a scenic view of the entire island.
The Honolulu Cruise Terminal provides a convenient port for cruise ships. Visitors arriving on a cruise ship disembark at the Oahu Dock. The entire terminal complex is clustered around the Aloha Tower.
The Aloha Tower is one of Honolulu’s well-known landmarks and a great shopping venue. Chinatown is close to this shopping center. Other Honolulu shopping centers include Waikiki’s International Market Place, the Ala Moana mega-mall, and the Ward Warehouse. The International Market Place and Ala Moana are great places to shop for souvenirs; the Market place has more than a 100 shops and Ala Moana features numerous international shops. If you are hungry, try out the Farmer’s Market which is held on Saturdays.
Of course, Waikiki and Pearl Harbor are Honolulu’s most well-known attractions. Thousands of visitors come to Pearl Harbor each year to pay to tribute to those who died there in 1941. Visit the USS Arizona Memorial and the USS Bowfin Submarine Museum and be touched by the stories of these war heroes.
Where ever you go in Honolulu you will be pleased. This city is probably the United States’ most exotic capital city. You will love it.
