Cheap Flights to Europe - The Airline Industry Explained.

A way in which to find cheaper tickets to Europe from your particular location would be by buying your flight from a so-called bucket shop.

This is very similar to the concept of an airline consolidator which it is more commonly known as in the USA.

Originating in the 1970's this way of selling tickets allows airlines to distribute tickets without seeming to be directly involved.

The only significant difference between a bucket shop and a consolidator is the fact that consolidators buy only from airlines whilst bucket shops only buy from one another.

In reality, the terms bucket shop and airline consolidators are practically interchangeable, so when looking for flights to Europe sold by such vendors online it would be wise to enter both search terms within your chosen search engines and view both sets of results.

It is important to check the reputation of a particular company which sells such tickets to Europe before diving in headfirst and purchasing something.

The recommended ways to check reputation would either be by going on the advice of trusted friends or checking whether the company is officially recognised by the national agency which regulates standards within their particular home country.

In the USA check whether they belong to the American Society of Travel Agents, the ARC or the Better Business Bureau. ARC stands for the Airline Reporting Commission, a body which checks that a particular establishment meets certain financial and legal requirements.

The Better Business Bureau is a good source to check the reliability of a particular vendor, if membership is found it is generally acknowledged as a good way to ensure consumer protection.
