Barbados Flights - A short guide.
The underground caverns which have formed in the coral delight adventurous tourists, while the island’s shores surrounded by coral reefs invite visitors to explore the beaches. Remembering the television show “Fantasy Island” has led some to claim that Barbados is a “fantasy island.” The magical isle certainly has all a tourist could desire, from gorgeous shores to sizzling nightlife. Adding to Barbados’ appeal is its nearly year-around sunny weather. It averages only twenty-five days a year without sunshine. English traditions dominate much of Barbados culture, although the majority of Barbados’ natives are of West Indian lineage. These island natives are known as Bajans and many of their ancestors worked in sugar cane fields which were the island’s economic base in its days as an English colony. Today there is evidence of the Anglo influence throughout Barbados; English-style stone churches dot the land and the favorite sport of many is still that English favorite--cricket. Barbados finally achieved independence in the mid-1960s. Nowadays, tourism is the island’s main economic resource. Barbados citizens are warm and welcoming and the island’s many tourist attractions are delightful. Enjoy the beaches and stunning scenery during the day, and plenty of entertainment at night in one the island’s many restaurants or clubs. Natural and historic attractions are plentiful. Explore Harrison’s Cave or tour the Jacobean Mansions. What ever part of Barbados you choose to explore, you are sure to have a memorable experience.
